Clarence Bean, Don't Look Now
by Lauren Child.
"I think this book is great for children my age who worry about a lot of things.
In the book Clarence Beans worst worry is that her mum and dad might be getting a divorce.
It is written like a diary and shows how Clarence copes with all the difficulties in her life, but it does this in a fun and happy way."

Carrie's Way by Nina Bawden
Carrie's War is an interesting book that puts you in the shoes of Carrie, and evacuee from the 2nd World War. She and her brother Nick arrive at a Welsh mining town and are sent to live with the shy Miss Evans and her brother, harsh Mr Evans.
It is a fascinating book about friendship, courage and the difficulties faced by the evacuees in the war.
She becomes good friends with warm-hearted Hepzibah, kind Albert, wise Mrs Gotobed and funny Mister Johnny. It is a fab book for older readers and is set not only when she is young but also about 30 years later, when she is telling her children her war memories.
