Visit from Chris Riddell
We are very pleased to welcome the author and illustrator Chris Riddell to Bags of Books!
Chris will be joining us to talk about and sign copies of his Ottoline series, including the latest "Ottoline at Sea", and his brand new "Alienography". His talk will be most suitable for ages 6+.
Chris will be here on Monday 25th October at 2:30pm.
There is no charge for this event but you do need to sign-up. Call us and leave your name or sign up below.

Summer Party 2010 - 26th August
Despite distinctly unsummery weather, we all had great fun at the Summer Party this week. Many thanks to Wishworks who performed a wonderful puppet show in the morning, entertaining children and adults alike. In the afternoon everyone enjoyed making their own puppets, drawing and colouring, having their faces painted and chasing the many stray balloons around the shop!

Audio Book Recommendations
The new issue of ABC magazine (out today!) features our recommendations for audio books for children of all ages. Whether it's to pass the time on a long journey, to listen to before bedtime, or to help with developing reading skills, there's an audio book out there for everyone! If you don't live in the Sussex area and would like a copy of the article we'll happily send you one. Or just give us a call and ask us to recommend an audio book for you!

Small Knight & George
Rhonda and David Armitage, author and illustrator of "The Lighthouse Keeper" series of books, visited us in the shop on 10th July to read from "Small Knight and George and the Royal Chocolate Cake". Aferwards everyone had a their very own Special Royal Chocolate Cupcake to decorate. Yum!

Book critics wanted
We are putting together a new section on our website for children's book reviews written by our local customers, and are looking for some young book lovers to help!
You need to be between 5 and 14 years old and be happy to feature on our website.
We will probably ask for a book review from you approximately every other month. So you'll have 2 months to read something and decide what you think of it. Easy!
We would like to film some of the book reviews, so we can put a short clip of you delivering your verdict on a book on-line. So occasionally we will ask you to come into the shop to record your book review.
Every time you give us a review (either written or recorded in the shop) that we use on the website you'll get a £5 book token.
If you think you might be interested in becoming a Bags of Books book reviewer just fill in the application form and have it back to us by 30th June.

Talking Tots meeting - Tuesday 15th June - 9.30am
